Art, especially the decorative arts has always been of interest to Dianne. A high school art teacher for 14 years, it wasn’t until an illness impacting both her sight and her general energy levels forced her to change direction and led her to do a short course in leadlight. Taking to the medium of glass like a duck takes to water, one course led to another, expanding working with the medium to include the use of the techniques of fusing, slumping, and painting on glass.
Today, due to insufficient levels of power to her rural property, (required for firing a kiln), Dianne’s main work in glass revolves around the use of copperfoiling and mosaic. |
