The gardens at Calais Villa (circa 1880) have been restored by Kerry and her daughter, Belle. Kerry has designed the gardens and courtyard to have an accent on colour, particularly at the time of the festival. The irises will be in flower in November, both the tall bearded irises, Louisiana water irises and the old heritage irises that are in many of the old Rockley gardens. Kerry has been thinning out the irises and named varieties will be available for sale in her garden along with other annuals and perennials that she has been propagating.
Kerry has designed colourful hanging baskets for the courtyard, hopefully overflowing with red geraniums, purple lobelia, bright yellow marigolds and pansies. Colourful poppies and pansies have been planted in every available space. |
