Tony and Deidre restored the 1872 bank building into the Budden’s Guesthouse in 1999 .
The stables and coachhouse buildings were used as a stopover, when the Cobb & Co coaches carried gold and people into Bathurst and districts. In 1900’s when cars came into the area, 2 of the stables were turned into a garage for 'The Car’ with an inspection pit underneath. The garden features typical species that were planted in the early 1800s, such as hawthorn, holly, pines and fruit trees. Additionally there is a magnificent white and blue wisteria as well as old world roses, irises and peonies. The garden features many bulbs such as daffodils, tulips, crocuses, hyacinths and jonquils when in season. More information about the guest house can be found on their website: www.buddens.com.au/ |
