The Methodist Church built in 1858 was one of the first stone buildings in Rockley.
It has had several lives since it was decommissioned as a church, including and art studio and is now a private residence. The 'garden' was overrun with bushes and weeds when Jenny & Jaye purchased the property in 2017. It has been a labour of love since then with most of the plants grown from cuttings or seeds. It has a colourful cottage feel with roses, lavenders, penstemons, valerian, borage and lots of other softly coloured plants chosen for their ability to survive the harsh climate and lack of water. There have also been some fruit trees and olives planted on the property and currently a stone wall is in the process of being built, this is where the vegetable garden will eventually evolve. |
